In every large naval fleet, there stands a vessel that sends fear into its enemies and inspires pride in the sailors who served aboard it. It has taken a long time, but now Great Britain’s Navy finally has a vessel worthy of being called a flagship. Now their biggest and most advanced warship has entered her home for the first time as the HMS Queen Elizabeth enters Portsmouth.
Citizens from all over town crowded the shores to get a glimpse of the colossal aircraft carrier as it engulfed the horizon. Hundreds of boats joined the HMS Queen Elizabeth on its journey to its new home docked in Portsmouth. The carrier will use F-35B fighters for combat missions and can be deployed all over the world for humanitarian missions as well.
“Today we welcome our mighty new warship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, to her home for the very first time. Today we welcome our mighty new warship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, to her home for the very first time”
– Michael Fallon (British Defense Secretary)
